This assignment offers the chance to work within a highly respected academic medical center featuring a Level 1 Trauma Designation and comprehensive pediatric services. Serving as an RN with a focus on Pediatric Oncology/Hematology, you will gain valuable insight into diverse healthcare methodologies and leadership styles, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to both patient care and ongoing professional development. Each shift will help broaden your skillset with exposure to acute pediatric oncology and adolescent medicine, so you can build an outstanding resume while expanding your clinical horizons.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 7am 7pm, 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Holiday coverage: 75%

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license and BLS certification (PALS preferred)
  • Chemo certification (APHON required)
  • At least one year of pediatric hem/oncology acute care experience
  • Strong proficiency in pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and central line management
  • Experience with chemo administration

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized care to pediatric hem/oncology and adolescent medicine patients (Leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and more)
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-4 for PHO, 1:4-5 for adolescent medicine
  • Collaborate with a supportive team, including CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, and intensivists
  • Float as needed between pediatric units (except Peds ED)
  • Document and manage care via Epic EMR and associated technologies
