In this travel assignment, youll work in a renowned teaching hospital, exposing you to a diverse range of best practices and leadership styles in pediatric care. This role will expand your expertise in pediatric oncology/hematology while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team dedicated to patient-centered and innovative care.
Schedule/Hours:
- 7:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday expectation: Approximately 75% of holidays scheduled
- Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
Desired Experience & Requirements:
- Active RN license; BLS required, PALS preferred
- APHON chemotherapy certification required
- At least 1 year in pediatric hem/oncology acute care
- Strong pediatric nursing assessment skills & critical thinking
- Experience with central line management and chemo administration
- EMR: Epic experience preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients (average nurse-patient ratio 1:3-4)
- Monitor and assess complex patient populations including leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, and more
- Administer chemotherapy and manage central lines
- Educate and support patients and families in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Work alongside dedicated CNAs, Hospitalists, Intensivists, and a multidisciplinary support team
- Float between pediatric oncology/hematology and adolescent medicine units (excluding ED)
