Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts, as needed for patient volume and unit requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; RN license valid in North Carolina or compact state.
- At least one year of experience in critical care pediatric nursing required; two years preferred.
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment.
- Current BLS and PALS certifications.
- Strong skills in post-anesthesia care; comfortable with common drips (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac).
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and resourceful; enjoys an open-bay, collaborative unit.
- Experience with EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitoring systems preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients in the PACU, ages 0-17, with occasional adult patients as needed.
- Accurately monitor patient status, including telemetry, and respond swiftly to changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsanesthesia, charge RNs, transport, and PACU educators.
- Practice in a busy, fast-paced unit with 20 bays and an average of 30-40 patients per day.
- Float as required within the department to support patient needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety protocols.
