Schedule/Hours:

  • Shifts vary based on assignment needs (details provided during interview)
  • Flexible scheduling within determined shift blocks

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • BLS and PALS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of critical care pediatric experience; 2 years preferred
  • Previous travel nursing assignment completed (no first-time travelers)
  • Experience with pediatric surgical specialties (except cardiac preferred)
  • Comfortable with telemetry, gtts (heparin, insulin, cardiac drips), and low BiPAP usage
  • Resourceful, team-oriented, and self-motivated approach

Responsibilities:

  • Care for pediatric patients (ages 0-17) in a 20-bay PACU with an average census of 3040 per day
  • Maintain acuity-appropriate ratios (1:1 or 1:2)
  • Coordinate with dedicated support staff including transporters, PACU educators, and anesthesia on-call
  • Follow electronic documentation with EPIC EMR and utilize advanced medical equipment
  • Float occasionally to care for adults, as unit needs dictate
  • Adhere to a culture of safety and patient-centered care
