This advanced, academic medical environment exposes you to high-acuity pediatric post-anesthesia care within a Level 1 Trauma Centerideal for expanding your clinical expertise. Youll work alongside dedicated interdisciplinary teams, gaining insights into cutting-edge pediatric practices and collaborative leadership in a dynamic setting. Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts supporting pediatric PACU needs
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and active BLS, PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred)
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
- Strong skills in managing ICU medications (heparin, insulin, cardiac drips)
- Team player: positive communication and all hands on deck mentality crucial
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and adaptable to fast-paced pediatric setting
Responsibilities:
- Manage care for children (and occasional adults) recovering from diverse surgical procedures
- Provide 1:1 or 1:2 focused nursing care dependent on acuity
- Independently monitor telemetry, collaborate with anesthesia, charge, and educator support
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams in a unit that values mentorship, teamwork, and education
- Use advanced EMR, IV, and monitoring systems
