An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with expertise in Post-Anesthesia Care (RN-PACU) to provide critical care in a surgical recovery environment. This contract position is located in Volcano, HI, requiring arrival the Thursday before the start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday. Timely arrival is essential, so please confirm availability accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care in pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery settings post-surgery.
- Monitor vital signs, incision sites, and patient stability with critical thinking and clinical expertise.
- Utilize equipment such as Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, and multiple monitoring systems (HP and Phillips).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient recovery and safety.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Minimum two years of critical care nursing (ER or ICU) in a hospital setting, which may substitute for direct PACU experience.
- Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date. Non-licensed candidates must apply immediately upon offer acceptance.
- Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS and ACLS.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be required.
- Specialty certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred.
- Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to contract start.
Schedule:
- Varied shifts including 8, 10, and 12-hour options covering days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in ASU and PACU units.
- On-call duties 0-3 times monthly with 8-hour night shifts and 24-hour weekend/holiday coverage.
