This position is perfect for a Registered Nurse with PACU experience seeking professional development through complex pediatric post-anesthesia care. You'll be working in a dynamic, high-volume peds PACU serving a wide age range and multiple surgical specialties, supported by a skilled team, a dedicated educator, and around-the-clock anesthesia.
Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating shifts; flexibility required to meet patient and unit needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in pediatric critical care (2 years preferred)
- At least one prior travel assignment required
- BLS and PALS certifications (must be current)
- Experience with telemetry and critical infusions (gtts)
- Comfort caring for both pediatric and occasional adult PACU populations
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitors
- Strong teamwork orientation and self-motivation
- Ability to thrive in an open bay, fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Manage post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients, occasionally adults, across a range of surgical services
- Monitor telemetry, administer IV medications and infusions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize advanced technology and support resources
- Adhere to established protocols for patient safety in a Level 1 Trauma, academic environment
