Working in the Pre-Op/Day Surgery/Phase 2 Recovery unit, you will be part of an award-winning team, recognized nationally for excellence in transplant and metabolic surgery programs. The role provides exposure to progressive workplace practices, robust multidisciplinary collaboration, and diverse leadership stylesan excellent environment to broaden your clinical expertise and enrich your nursing portfolio.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM 8:30 PM (variable, flexible)
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- 13-week assignment
- Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
Key Qualifications:
- Active TX RN license (temp licenses not accepted)
- 2+ years of hospital/travel RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency in pre-op and Phase II surgical discharge processes
- PACU experience preferred
- IV skills and Meditech familiarity are a plus
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient care for pre-op and post-anesthesia recovery
- Deliver comprehensive discharge teaching and pain block monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech
- Collaborate with a supportive team including secretaries, PCAs, and phlebotomists
- Adapt to floating policies as needed, ensuring seamless patient care across units
