Job Description
Providing specialized nursing care for pre and post-operative patients, this role focuses on facilitating smooth procedural experiences for individuals ranging from infants to geriatric patients. The position requires comprehensive knowledge and skills in technical nursing, patient assessment, equipment handling, and patient education within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to patients across all age groups
- Monitor patient vitals and assess condition during perioperative phases
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, post-care, and discharge instructions
- Operate and manage specialized medical equipment related to diagnostic catheterization lab procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a high-acuity setting
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN licensure with PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) experience
- Minimum of one year experience in pre and post-operative care, specifically in diagnostic catheterization labs preferred
- Ability to manage care for patients from infancy through geriatrics with varied healthcare needs
- Strong assessment skills and proficiency with perioperative nursing procedures
- Effective communication skills for patient education and coordination of care
- Experience working in fast-paced medical environments
