A professional opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) expertise in Pahoa, HI. This contract position requires a dedicated nurse skilled in providing advanced perioperative care, specifically in Phase I and Phase II recovery stages. The role involves monitoring patient recovery from anesthesia, assessing vital signs, incision sites, and overall stability while working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care pre-operatively and throughout Phase I and Phase II recovery.
• Utilize critical care skills to monitor and assess patient condition post-surgery.
• Operate essential equipment including Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, and advanced monitoring systems.
• Ensure strict adherence to patient safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years critical care RN experience (ER or ICU) or prior PACU nursing experience.
• Valid professional nursing license in Hawaii upon start of assignment.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended and may be mandatory for certain roles.
• Additional certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred.

Schedule:

• Shifts vary in length (8, 10, 12 hours) and can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• On-call duties 0-3 times monthly, encompassing 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts.
• No guaranteed hours or shift preference; flexibility is essential.

Additional Information: Candidates must arrive in Hawaii by Thursday prior to the contract start date for employee health clearance on Friday. Proof of flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required before starting. Applicants not currently licensed in Hawaii must apply for licensure immediately upon offer acceptance.
