Provide specialized nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring patient safety and comfort during recovery following surgical procedures. This role involves coordinating care for assigned patients in adherence to established nursing standards and protocols. Utilize critical thinking and professional judgment to manage patient conditions effectively while directing and supervising nursing staff at various levels. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for post-anesthesia patients in alignment with nursing process standards.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, ensuring adherence to care plans and hospital policies.
- Monitor patients responses to anesthesia and surgery, identifying and responding to complications.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Utilize professional discretion and independent judgment in clinical and supervisory decisions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and staff activities.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with PACU experience.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
- Prior experience in supervising nursing personnel preferred.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with a healthcare team.
- Knowledge of post-anesthesia patient care protocols and safety standards.
