Desired Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent nursing experience in a PACU setting
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS
- Exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to respond swiftly and effectively to changing patient conditions
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia, including vital sign monitoring and pain management
- Identify and appropriately address any complications or emergencies following surgery
- Collaborate with the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate safe, effective post-operative care
- Administer medications, fluids, and post-surgical treatments as ordered
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Provide patient and family education related to post-surgical care and discharge instructions
- Ensure a supportive and safe recovery environment for patients
