Job Description

Deliver exceptional post-anesthesia care by utilizing your skills as a Registered Nurse in the PACU. In this contract role, you will play a vital part in assessing, planning, and delivering care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, all while upholding high standards of clinical excellence and patient collaboration.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with experience in PACU or perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated competence in assessing and monitoring patients post-anesthesia
  • Ability to coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with nursing standards of practice and facility-specific policies
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and continuous professional growth

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and monitor patients in the immediate post-surgical period, anticipating needs and promptly addressing concerns
  • Implement individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessments
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care from surgery to recovery
  • Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly
  • Comply with established nursing standards, safety protocols, and infection control guidelines
  • Assist the operating surgeon, as appropriate, in perioperative care under established policies and direct supervision
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism while representing nursing on the perioperative team
