An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with expertise in Preoperative (Preop) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing. Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in both Preop and PACU settings.
- Monitor patient recovery post-anesthesia and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
- Assist with transfusions in specialized cases when necessary.
- Support flexible coverage by floating between Preop and PACU as patient needs dictate.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training sessions to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of one year recent experience in Preop and PACU nursing.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records; experience with Altera Sunrise or similar platforms like Cerner is helpful but not required.
- Ability to respond to on-call requirements if living within a 30-minute radius of the hospital.
- Commitment to working a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (0800-1630).
- New graduates will not be considered for this role.
Job Type: Contract
Start dates are flexible, with options available mid to late February or early March. Orientation includes dedicated training to prepare you successfully for the role.
