In this assignment, youll work within a high-acuity Pediatric PACU, a 20-bay unit with a diverse patient mix and an average census of 30-40 patients daily. With a Level 1 Trauma Center and an academic medical environment, youll collaborate in a setting that fosters cutting-edge practices, teamwork, and frequent interdisciplinary learning. Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric critical care experience required (2 years preferred)
- At least one prior travel assignment completed
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Strong telemetry and IV medication management skills
- Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care for pediatric PACU patients (ages 0-17), occasionally assisting with adult patients as needed
- Assess, monitor, and respond to post-anesthesia recovery needs, including telemetry monitoring and medication infusions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in an open bay, team-oriented environment
- Participate in supportive roles as required; some patient transport and coordination
- Attend facility and unit orientation, including a precepted onboarding process
