As a travel RN in the Peds PACU, you'll grow by working alongside seasoned healthcare leaders, gaining exposure to advanced treatment protocols, academic medicine, and a high-acuity environment. This opportunity positions you to expand your resume within a 20-bay unit serving a diverse pediatric population (ages 0-17) across most surgical specialties. Experience a collaborative, "all hands on deck" culture with robust departmental support including anesthesia coverage 24/7, dedicated charge nurses, and an on-site educator.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license with at least 1 year of critical care pediatric experience; 2 years preferred
- Previous completion of at least one travel nursing assignment (first-time travelers not considered)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Proven skills in post-op care, telemetry monitoring, managing ICU-type gtts (e.g., heparin, insulin)
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable seeking guidance when needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care primarily to pediatric inpatients, occasionally adults
- Monitor and manage patient status including telemetry and medication infusions
- Collaborate with transporters, charge nurses, and an on-site educator for optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize cutting-edge equipment (EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors)
- Flexibility to occasionally care for adult patients based on unit demand
Schedule:
- Orientation includes facility onboarding and two precepted unit shifts
- Scrubs provided; free on-site parking
