Professionally, you'll gain invaluable experience at a prominent academic medical center designated as a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center, and a Chest Pain Center, where advanced pediatric perioperative care is practiced daily.
Working in a 20-bay Peds PACU with a daily census of 30-40 patients, youll manage diverse surgical casesexcluding cardiacserving infants through adolescents and, occasionally, adult patients. This is a prime opportunity for experienced travel nurses to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, refine leadership skills, and learn from top-tier clinical educators, all while contributing to a cohesive, all-hands-on-deck environment.
Qualifications & Experience Needed:
- Active RN license with at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred).
- Previous completion of one travel assignment (first-time travelers not accepted).
- Current BLS and PALS certifications.
- Competency with telemetry monitoring, managing heparin/insulin drips, and post-op care.
- Comfort working in open-bay units.
- Strong teamwork and self-motivation; resourcefulness essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients pre- and post-surgery.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage infusion drips, and provide comprehensive assessments.
- Collaborate with a dedicated PACU team, educator, and 24/7 anesthesia support.
- Occasionally float to provide care for adult patients as needed.
- Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Philips monitors.
