As an RN in this Peds PACU travel role, you'll gain firsthand experience in a cutting-edge academic medical center distinguished by Level 1 Trauma status, a chest pain center, and a comprehensive stroke center. The workplace offers exposure to diverse pediatric surgical specialties, allowing you to expand your resume with complex cases while strengthening your expertise in post-anesthesia and critical care pediatrics. Collaborate with experienced leadership and multidisciplinary teams, enhancing your practical skills and gaining new perspectives on care delivery.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license and minimum 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2+ years ideal)
  • Must have completed at least one travel assignment (no first-time travelers)
  • Required certifications: BLS and PALS
  • Strength in troubleshooting, adaptability, and teamwork in a dynamic, open-bay setting

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Care for primarily pediatric PACU patients (ages 0-17, occasional adults)
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2, dependent on acuity
  • Independently manage IV drips (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac)
  • Conduct telemetry monitoring and support post-operative care for a broad spectrum of surgical cases
  • Collaborate closely with dedicated support staff, educators, and anesthesia
