This role is a fantastic opportunity for experienced PACU RNs with a pediatric background, eager to build expertise at a large academic medical center with 885 licensed beds and a Level 1 Trauma designation. As part of a leading institution recognized for excellence in chest pain and stroke care, youll gain high-level clinical exposure and work alongside accomplished colleaguesfrom PACU educators to support stafffostering diverse perspectives and teamwork strengths. Expand your clinical repertoire while mastering best practices in pediatric post-anesthesia recovery in a fast-paced, all hands on deck unit, with the flexibility to occasionally float to care for adult cases as needed.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel position; specific hours provided upon interview.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of recent critical care pediatric nursing experience; 2 years preferred
  • Previous completion of at least one travel assignment (first-time travelers not eligible)
  • Active RN license
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, and Omnicell medication systems
  • Confident in managing ICU-type drips (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac)
  • Adaptable, collaborative, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a team-focused open bay unit

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality PACU care to pediatric (and occasionally adult) patients recovering from surgery
  • Monitor telemetry and promptly respond to post-op needs
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including anesthesia and support staff
  • Participate actively in unit operations and patient transport as needed
