Step into a pivotal role within a 20-bay pediatric PACU located in a large, academically affiliated medical center. This assignment promises exposure to a diverse patient mix, cutting-edge technology, and evolving best practices in pediatric peri-anesthesia care. Expand your clinical expertise under the guidance of experienced department leaders, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and enhance your resume with hands-on experience in a Level 1 Trauma and Teaching Hospital environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Travel contract assignment
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year pediatric critical care experience required (2 years preferred)
- At least one completed travel assignment
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Strong ICU-related skillset, including management of gtts (e.g., heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac)
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and limited use of BiPAP
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactiveespecially in an open bay, all-hands setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive PACU care to pediatric patients, with occasional adult care as needed
- Oversee telemetry monitoring and ensure accurate documentation via EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with transporters, receptionists, educators, and anesthesia services
- Participate actively in departmental teamwork, continually seeking opportunities for professional growth
- Float to adult units as required by department needs
