As a travel nurse specializing in Pediatric PACU, youll immerse yourself in an academically affiliated, Level 1 Trauma hospital. Here, youll handle a diverse pediatric surgical population in a fast-paced recovery environment, gaining exposure to an expansive team-oriented care model. Schedule/Hours:

  • Shifts available upon assignment details

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 1 year critical care pediatric experience; 2 years highly preferred
  • At least one prior travel nursing assignment completed
  • BLS and PALS certification
  • Confident managing IV drips typically seen in the ICU (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac)
  • Strong teamwork skills and adaptability to an open-bay, dynamic unit

Responsibilities:

  • Care for pediatric PACU patients, primarily ages 0-17, both inpatient and outpatient
  • Monitor post-op recovery and manage telemetry
  • Provide occasional care for adult patients as needed
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including transporters, educators, and 24/7 anesthesia support
  • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
  • Promote a resourceful, safety-first approach in rapidly changing care scenarios
