Job Description

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care (PACU), you will play a vital role on an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing safe, individualized, high-quality care to patients and their families. You will collaborate with both licensed and unlicensed caregivers to ensure that each patient receives seamless support through the perioperative process, guided by evidence-based practices and institutional core standards.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Georgia
  • Minimum of one year recent experience in a PACU or critical care setting required
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
  • Working knowledge of the American Nurses Association Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver post-anesthesia care, monitoring vital signs and managing pain and sedation for surgical patients
  • Rapidly identify and respond to changes in patient condition, ensuring prompt, appropriate intervention
  • Uphold institutional policies, procedures, and service excellence standards in collaboration with leadership
  • Educate patients and their families regarding perioperative care and post-procedure expectations
  • Accurately document care delivery, assessments, and changes in patient status
  • Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and voice within the healthcare team
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice initiatives
