Job Description

Advance patient care and recovery in a dynamic Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting. This contract position requires skilled Registered Nurses with experience in post-operative care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients emerging from anesthesia.

Qualifications:

  • Current and unencumbered RN license
  • Proven experience in PACU or similar recovery settings
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Proficiency in monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and rapidly responding to changes in patient status
  • Ability to assess recovery progress and communicate effectively with surgical, anesthesia, and support teams
  • Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Compassionate approach to patient care in high-stress situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, monitor, and care for patients post-surgery as they recover from anesthesia
  • Administer medications and pain management per physician instructions
  • Respond to complications or emergencies following established protocols
  • Document patient status, interventions, and changes in condition thoroughly and accurately
  • Coordinate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and aftercare instructions
