A specialized nursing role is available for a Registered Nurse with PACU experience, focused in the Endoscopy unit. This contract position supports a busy GI/Endoscopy department handling a high volume of diverse procedures in a modern healthcare setting.
Location: Cambridge, MA
Shift Hours:
- 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM
- Includes 1 rotating day from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in 7 procedural rooms4 MAC and 3 conscious sedation
- Manage patient care in holding and recovery areas, maintaining a 1:1 clinician-to-patient ratio in procedure rooms and 1:2-3 in PACU bays
- Support 60-70 daily procedures, assisting with Olympus scope setup, handling, and reprocessing
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC system
- Participate in rotating shifts within hours of 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Respond to on-call duties covering evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum 2-3 years nursing experience, preferably in GI/endoscopy or PACU
- Certification in AHA ACLS mandatory
- SGNA or CBSPD certification strongly preferred
- Skilled in endoscopy equipment setup and reprocessing
- Ability to maintain high standards of patient care and safety
Unit Information: The Endoscopy unit comprises 18 PACU bays and 8 procedural rooms. The patient population is diverse, ensuring a dynamic work environment. The department emphasizes teamwork and precision in delivering care.
