Job Description

A Registered Nurse with expertise in Preoperative (Preop) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) care is sought for an engaging contract opportunity in Blue Springs, MO. This position offers a steady Monday through Friday schedule, providing eight-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, ideal for candidates who value consistent hours and will support quality patient care in a dynamic surgical environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Preop and PACU nursing.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; experience with Altera Sunrise, or similar platforms like Cerner, is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to float between Preop and PACU as needed and assist in special transfusions if required.
  • Ability to be on-call if residing within 30 minutes of the facility, covering on-call and holiday duties as necessary.
  • Nicotine-free candidates preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care in both Preoperative and PACU settings.
  • Monitor patients vital signs and recovery progress post-anesthesia.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure smooth patient transitions and safety.
  • Assist with transfusions during special cases, supporting patient needs as directed.
  • Participate in orientation and training to align with facility protocols and standards.
