Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse experienced in caring for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Work collaboratively with a dedicated surgical team to ensure safe, effective recovery for patients following procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of one year of recent PACU or critical care experience
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to recognize early signs of post-operative complications
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are required
  • Proficient in electronic health records and standard PACU protocols
  • Excellent communication skills for patient and family education

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia in accordance with facility protocols
  • Provide timely interventions for pain, nausea, or signs of surgical complications
  • Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed
  • Communicate effectively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient status and care needs
  • Advocate for patient safety while maintaining a calm environment during critical situations
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly
