This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse experienced in caring for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Work collaboratively with a dedicated surgical team to ensure safe, effective recovery for patients following procedures.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of one year of recent PACU or critical care experience
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to recognize early signs of post-operative complications
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required
- Proficient in electronic health records and standard PACU protocols
- Excellent communication skills for patient and family education
Role Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia in accordance with facility protocols
- Provide timely interventions for pain, nausea, or signs of surgical complications
- Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed
- Communicate effectively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient status and care needs
- Advocate for patient safety while maintaining a calm environment during critical situations
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly
