This assignment offers valuable exposure to a modern surgical unit focused on preoperative care and phase 2 recovery. Youll collaborate with a well-rounded staff, expanding your clinical skills and learning new protocols and leadership approaches. With access to advanced monitoring equipment and Meditech EMR, every shift enhances your adaptability and professional growth.
Schedule/Hours:
- 5A 5P shifts
- 30-minute response time required for on-call coverage
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Proven experience in phase 2 recovery
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Pre-op experience preferred or willingness to assist preop staff
- Comfort with Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG, Doppler, bladder scanners, and patient scales
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, compassionate care in pre-op holding and phase 2 recovery
- Support patients recovering from various procedures (Urology, GYN, SDS)
- Assist in preoperative assessment, outpatient infusions, EKGs, blocks, and transfusions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient management
- Uphold unit safety protocols and guidelines
