This contract opportunity in Asheville, NC welcomes experienced registered nurses specializing in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Located within a prominent hospital setting, the PACU is a 40-bed unit known for high-quality care and a supportive, well-equipped environment designed for optimal patient recovery after surgery.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing critical postoperative care to patients in the PACU with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
- Monitoring ventilated patients and managing advanced airway devices.
- Performing procedures including catheterizations, lab draws, and patient transport.
- Collaborating closely with peri-anesthesia teams including Endoscopy, Pre-Op, and Phase II.
- Utilizing Cerner documentation and adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
- Participating in shift scheduling with six-week cycles and fulfilling three call shifts per schedule.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Experience with trauma and pediatric patients is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ventilator monitoring.
- Familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale assessment.
- Ability to adhere to uniform policy wearing surgical green or navy scrubs.
- Comfortable floating within peri-anesthesia areas as needed.
