This contract opportunity in Asheville, NC welcomes experienced registered nurses specializing in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Located within a prominent hospital setting, the PACU is a 40-bed unit known for high-quality care and a supportive, well-equipped environment designed for optimal patient recovery after surgery.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing critical postoperative care to patients in the PACU with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
• Monitoring ventilated patients and managing advanced airway devices.
• Performing procedures including catheterizations, lab draws, and patient transport.
• Collaborating closely with peri-anesthesia teams including Endoscopy, Pre-Op, and Phase II.
• Utilizing Cerner documentation and adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Participating in shift scheduling with six-week cycles and fulfilling three call shifts per schedule.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN licensure.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Experience with trauma and pediatric patients is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in ventilator monitoring.
• Familiarity with NIH Stroke Scale assessment.
• Ability to adhere to uniform policy wearing surgical green or navy scrubs.
• Comfortable floating within peri-anesthesia areas as needed.
