Job Description

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse with PACU expertise to provide exceptional peri-anesthesia care at a well-established healthcare unit in Arden, NC. The contracted position invites experienced nurses to contribute to a dynamic team focused on patient safety, recovery, and comfort in a fast-paced postoperative environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Monitor ventilated patients using advanced clinical skills
  • Participate in procedures typical to the PACU setting, including lab draws, catheterizations, and patient transports
  • Collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians to ensure smooth operations
  • Utilize Cerner for accurate patient documentation and reporting
  • Float within peri-anesthesia services as needed, including Endoscopy, PreOp, and Phase II units
  • Adhere to unit policies including dress code and scheduling, which involves six-week schedules and three call shifts within that period

Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Current RN license with PACU experience
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale competency
  • Experience with trauma and pediatric patient care strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in ventilator monitoring and postoperative nursing care
