This contract opportunity calls for an experienced Registered Nurse with PACU expertise to deliver compassionate, skilled care within a collaborative surgical team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year of recent PACU or critical care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and rapid response skills
- Proficiency in patient monitoring, pain management, and post-operative care protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide vigilant post-operative care, closely monitoring patients vital signs and recovery status
- Implement physician orders and adjust care plans as necessary for optimal patient outcomes
- Administer medications, including pain management and anesthesia reversal agents, per protocol
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery process, discharge instructions, and home care guidelines
- Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and support teams to ensure safe patient handoff and continuity of care
- Recognize signs of complications or adverse reactions, intervening swiftly and communicating concerns to physicians
