Job Description

A registered nurse with specialized experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is needed for a contract opportunity in Utica, NY. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex conditions such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory issues, and post-operative needs. Candidates with travel nursing experience and proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC, are preferred.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in IMCU/PCU
  • Current, active RN license in New York State
  • Certification in AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Proven travel nursing experience with a verifiable NURSYS report
  • Valid driver's license matching demographic information
  • Experience with specialty equipment: temporary pacer, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, chronic ventilator care
  • Demonstrated ability to float between units as needed
  • Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records

Job Details:

  • Location: Utica, NY
  • Unit: IMCU with 64 beds including 15 neuro-designated beds
  • Shift: 6:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m. (Block scheduling not guaranteed)
  • Scrubs: Navy Blue required
  • Patient Demographics: Adults (18 years and older)
  • Common Diagnoses: Neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory (COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI), CV stepdown, post-op care
  • Floating required to other units as needed
