Job Description
A registered nurse with specialized experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is needed for a contract opportunity in Utica, NY. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex conditions such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory issues, and post-operative needs. Candidates with travel nursing experience and proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC, are preferred.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in IMCU/PCU
- Current, active RN license in New York State
- Certification in AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Proven travel nursing experience with a verifiable NURSYS report
- Valid driver's license matching demographic information
- Experience with specialty equipment: temporary pacer, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, chronic ventilator care
- Demonstrated ability to float between units as needed
- Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records
Job Details:
- Location: Utica, NY
- Unit: IMCU with 64 beds including 15 neuro-designated beds
- Shift: 6:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m. (Block scheduling not guaranteed)
- Scrubs: Navy Blue required
- Patient Demographics: Adults (18 years and older)
- Common Diagnoses: Neuro, cardiac, trauma, respiratory (COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI), CV stepdown, post-op care
- Floating required to other units as needed
