A registered nurse role is available in a progressive Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Rome, NY, with a contract position starting soon. This opportunity focuses on providing specialized care to adult patients with a variety of complex medical conditions including neurological, cardiac, and respiratory diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage care for patients with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and post-operative needs.
• Operate specialty equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune devices.
• Work with chronic ventilator-dependent patients alongside respiratory therapy.
• Provide care in a 64-bed unit, including a 15-bed neuro-critical care section.
• Adhere to shift hours from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with floating as required.
• Collaborate within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team using the EPIC EMR system.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, active New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
• Documented travel nursing experience required.
• Valid drivers license matching current demographic.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS current.
• Strong familiarity with specialty nursing skills and equipment in critical stepdown care.
• Ability to provide RTO documentation upon submission.
