Job Description
A specialized nursing role focused on wound care is available for a travel assignment in Long Beach, CA. This position requires registered nurses with expertise in wound management to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical setting. The opportunity offers the chance to work with complex patient diagnoses including hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI), wound consults, ostomies, and wound VAC management while utilizing the Epic electronic medical record system.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts (07:00 - 18:00), no on-call or floating responsibilities
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Focus: HAPI, wound consults, ostomy care, wound VAC management
- EMR: Experience with Epic required
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in California or compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Wound care certification required; Wound and Ostomy certification or WCC preferred
- Proficiency in wound care nursing skills and patient assessment
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive wound care assessment, treatment, and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered care plans
- Manage patients with complex wounds including pressure injuries and ostomies
- Utilize the Epic system for accurate and timely charting and communication
