This opportunity is set within an outpatient ambulatory care clinic serving the community with comprehensive clinical support. The role requires collaboration with medical staff to ensure the smooth operation and high-quality care of the clinic. It involves leadership responsibilities, patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical services and collaborate with providers, clinic staff, and management to uphold quality care and efficient resource use.
- Lead clinic staff to ensure effective operation, including front desk and patient care activities.
- Maintain medication inventory and ensure quality control for point-of-care testing.
- Accurately document nursing care and clinic services in a timely manner.
- Manage the opening and closing of provider clinics.
- Assist providers and anticipate their needs to optimize patient care.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to support patients, providers, and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Alaska license application required before start date for direct hire; active Alaska license required for agency staff).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clinical Competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
- High Risk Competency within 3 months of hire and annually.
- Preferably, at least 1 year of acute care experience.
- Knowledge of nursing process, customer service, safety, and infection control.
- Skills in assessments, specimen collection, and use of medical and computer equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently in a fast-paced setting, and contribute positively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity.
- Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
