A registered nurse opportunity is available for experienced professionals skilled in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings. This position focuses on providing high-quality nursing care for adult patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. Candidates with recent travel nursing experience and proficiency in critical care skills are highly encouraged to consider this role.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years direct IMCU/PCU nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York State
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Travel nursing experience required, with updated NURSYS report and license verification
- Proficiency in electronic medical records, specifically EPIC system
- Ability to operate specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and manage chronic ventilator patients
- Valid drivers license matching residency demographics
- Willingness to float to other units as required

Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses in a 64-bed unit including 15 neuro-designated beds
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Utilize critical care monitoring and specialty equipment to manage complex cases
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Adapt to dynamic scheduling and float between units as necessary to meet staffing needs
This is a contract position starting March 23rd, offering scheduling flexibility and competitive local rates for nurses within 75 miles. Block scheduling is not guaranteed but may be available. Scrub color is navy blue.
