A skilled Registered Nurse with operating room expertise is sought for a travel assignment in West Frankfort, IL. This role involves working day shifts in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), with on-call duties as required. The position also includes floating to other clinical units based on patient needs and within the nurses scope of practice, licensure, and competencies.
Key Qualifications and Certifications:
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications preferred based on unit assignment
Additional certifications may be necessary depending on the floated unit. These could include PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and specialized critical care certifications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Providing high-quality perioperative nursing care in the CVOR to adult and pediatric patients
- Participating in on-call rotation to support surgical team needs
- Floating to clinically appropriate units such as emergency departments, ICUs, step-down units, and medical/surgical areas as required
- Maintaining competency in unit-specific nursing skills and certifications
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
