Job Description

A Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the Operating Room is sought for a contract position based in Washington, DC, within a renowned healthcare setting. This role requires dedication to high standards of aseptic technique and patient care throughout surgical procedures. The position operates primarily on a night schedule, consisting of four 10-hour shifts from 9 PM to 7 AM, with call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scrubbing and circulating duties during operative procedures.
  • Manage department admissions to the operative suite.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans.
  • Act as a communication liaison for patients, families, and the operating team.
  • Prepare the operating room by assembling equipment and supplies, ensuring all are functional and available.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state/district.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Operating Room.
  • Completion of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current certifications in PALS, BLS, and ACLS are required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Residence within a 50-mile radius of the facility is required.
