Schedule/Hours:
- Two 10-hour shifts per week
- On-call up to 7 days per four-week schedule, including one full weekend
- 13-week contract
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an OR setting
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least an associate's degree
- Active New York State RN license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Unit & Patient Details:
- Patient Population: Adults
- Beds per unit: 2
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
- Common diagnoses include CAD, AS, MR
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Omnicell technologies required
- Floating to other units may be needed if census is low
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care throughout all phases of surgical procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgery
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility safety protocols
