Job Description

Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients in the operating room environment, focusing on individualized, safe, and therapeutic interventions. Collaborate closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve holistic health goals and promote quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and families, identifying needs and prioritizing goals.
  • Develop individualized, culturally appropriate care plans with input from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Implement nursing interventions aligned with care plans, adapting to new or complex clinical situations.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward goals, modifying care plans as necessary.
  • Identify educational needs and develop patient-centered teaching plans, applying adult-learning principles.
  • Advocate for patients and families, ensuring active participation in care decisions and upholding rights.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation of assessments, care plans, and patient responses.
  • Delegate tasks responsibly to healthcare team members within their scope of practice.
  • Coordinate care activities with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
  • Seek additional resources or expertise when managing complex or high-risk clinical situations.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with Operating Room (OR) experience.
  • Proficient in nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong communication and patient advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Skilled in prioritizing and adapting care interventions in dynamic environments.
