Job Description

A Registered Nurse with Operating Room expertise is responsible for delivering safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care within a surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, sound decision-making, and a commitment to quality outcomes while ensuring high levels of patient comfort and satisfaction. The nurse will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, mentor and precept team members, and apply evidence-based practices consistent with established care models.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough patient assessments and reassessments, making independent clinical decisions as needed.
  • Develop, prioritize, and implement individualized care plans; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and update care plans accordingly.
  • Provide patient and family education related to surgical care, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to licensed and unlicensed personnel, fostering teamwork and mentoring staff.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, safety programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support unit financial stability through efficient resource utilization and evidence-based practice.

Desired Experience:

  • Current and valid RN license.
  • Proven Operating Room nursing experience.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care independently.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based care models and regulatory standards in perioperative nursing.
