Job Description

Deliver advanced perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment specializing in cardiovascular surgery. This contract role focuses on providing expert scrub and circulating support during cardiac procedures in a Level 1 trauma center setting.

Location

Schedule and Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • Four 10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM 5:00 PM
  • Holiday call commitment required
  • Weekend rotation as scheduled

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing during cardiac surgeries with strong scrub and circulating expertise
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain adherence to sterile techniques and procedural protocols
  • Support ancillary departments as needed, including OR and SPD areas

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Kansas RN License and BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience at a Level 1 trauma center
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scrub role for cardiac surgeries and circulating duties
  • Flexibility to float among Bell OR, Cambridge OR, and SPD as requested
  • Ability to commit to holiday and weekend coverage

Contract Details and Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $120/hour before administrative fees
  • Nicotine-free facility and supportive work environment
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule
  • 8 hours of non-billable orientation included
  • Client may cancel up to two shifts per month with minimum 2 hours notice
