Job Description

Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in the operating room, focusing on individualized and holistic goals to promote optimal health outcomes. This role requires applying the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for surgical patients. Collaborate with healthcare team members and advocate for patients and families to ensure exceptional care experiences throughout the perioperative period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and families, identifying and prioritizing needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized, age- and culturally appropriate nursing care plans, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Adapt nursing interventions in response to patient progress and high-risk clinical situations.
  • Serve as a patient and family advocate, fostering participation in decision-making and ensuring rights are respected.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and expedite patient progress.
  • Document all nursing activities accurately according to departmental policies.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks within team competencies to enhance care delivery.
  • Identify educational needs of patients and families, implementing tailored teaching plans and evaluating outcomes.
  • Address communication barriers by engaging interdisciplinary resources and adapting interventions.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Experience in Operating Room nursing or perioperative care preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to patient advocacy and quality care outcomes.
