Deliver coordinated and comprehensive nursing care in the operating room, providing support to patients and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary medical teams. This contract role involves managing both individualized and group patient care in accordance with established best practices and protocols. Supervision of nursing staff is a key aspect, requiring clear communication, sound clinical decision-making, and leadership.
Schedule and Hours:
- Contract position with variable shifts based on the needs of the facility and surgical schedules.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted RN license
- Proven experience in an operating room or perioperative nursing setting
- Exceptional knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and patient safety
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and coordinate the activities of various levels of nursing staff
- Strong critical-thinking skills and capacity to make independent, professional clinical decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective teamwork and patient interactions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the surgical process according to agency and facility standards
- Serve as patient advocate, ensuring all care requirements are addressed before, during, and after surgery
- Supervise, guide, and assess the skills and performance of assigned nursing personnel
- Coordinate patient care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility protocols
- Respond swiftly to emergent situations with clinical competence and calm professionalism
