Job Description

Take your Operating Room nursing expertise to the next level by supporting acute, high-acuity transplant surgeries in a dynamic, renowned hospital environment. This contract opportunity offers exposure to complex organ transplant procedures, working closely with a skilled surgical team.

Schedule:

  • Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts (06:45 17:15)
  • One on-call shift weekly and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month (will be discussed during the interview)
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent, direct Operating Room RN experience with LIVER and solid organ transplant cases (liver, heart, lung, kidney) documented on your skills checklist
  • Proficient in Misonix/CUSA
  • Required experience with implanting organs (beyond harvesting)
  • Active ACLS and BLS at submission; NIHSS certification (can be obtained prior to start)
  • Open to both experienced travelers and first-time contract nurses
  • Willingness to prioritize mandatory time-sensitive onboarding modules
  • Must be 100% nicotine free (facility requirement, negative cotinine screening mandatory)
  • Flexibility to float within scope as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scrub and circulate for advanced organ transplant surgeries (liver, heart, lung, kidney) and a variety of other Operating Room cases
  • Respond efficiently to emergent intraoperative scenarios
  • Adhere to rigid infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality perioperative care
  • Contribute to a teaching hospital environment with a focus on excellence and innovation
