Job Description
Step into a vital perioperative nursing role where you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care during intraoperative surgical experiences. This position focuses on ensuring safety and advocacy for patients of all ages within the operating room and throughout perioperative services. As the perioperative RN, you will guide a team, oversee perioperative activities, and participate in a regular on-call rotation for the Surgery Unit.
Schedule:
- Standard operating room shift schedule
- Regular scheduled on-call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise assigned personnel and delegate activities appropriately.
- Make independent evaluations and decisions based on clear clinical criteria.
- Implement comprehensive plans of care to safeguard patients from injury, infection, and procedural errors.
- Perform rigorous surgical item counts and manage specimens per established standards.
- Ensure consistent communication with multidisciplinary team members throughout the care continuum.
- Administer medications accurately and maintain patient baseline across vital health systems.
- Thoroughly document nursing care and interventions.
- Deliver ethical, culturally competent, and age-specific care while protecting patient confidentiality and dignity.
- Engage in ongoing education for regulatory programs and support overall hospital policies and quality initiatives.
- Participate in departmental floating assignments according to skillset and organizational needs.
- Foster effective team relationships using problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Active RN license in Oregon
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; TNCC required
- Strong adaptability, empathy, and professional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous OR RN circulator or scrub experience
- CNOR, Peri-op 101, or CRASE training
