This position is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse with OR experience to make a significant impact while working within a collaborative and fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum one year of recent experience in an operating room setting preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification desirable
- Strong knowledge of surgical nursing principles, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Comfort with EMR systems and meticulous documentation
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
- Provide perioperative nursing care including pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care
- Monitor patients vital signs and assist the surgical team throughout procedures
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field and support a safe environment for patients and surgical staff
- Administer medications as ordered and maintain accurate patient documentation
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and recovery
