Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Operating Room expertise to contribute to a renowned level 1 trauma center. This contract position requires strong cardiac surgical scrub and circulating experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting.

Location:
Situated in Overland Park, KS, this role serves a leading healthcare institution recognized for advanced surgical care and patient outcomes. The area offers a blend of urban and suburban living with access to cultural amenities, diverse dining options, and outdoor recreational activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide perioperative nursing care in the CVOR, specializing in cardiac surgeries.
  • Perform scrub and circulating duties with precision and adherence to established protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
  • Participate in rotating weekend and holiday call schedules as required.
  • Float between Bell OR, Cambridge OR, and SPD as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Kansas RN license and BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years CVOR nursing experience within a level 1 trauma center.
  • Demonstrated recent strong scrub and circulating experience specifically in cardiac surgeries.
  • Willingness to work 10-hour day shifts across four days per week (6:30 AM 5:00 PM).
  • Ability to take call on holidays and approximately one weekend per month.

Schedule & Shift Details:

  • 40 hours per week, 4 days at 10 hours each.
  • Mandatory holiday and weekend rotation.

Additional Details:

  • Nicotine-free facility environment.
  • Bi-weekly payment schedule.
  • 8-hour non-billable orientation included.
  • Client may cancel up to two shifts per month with at least 2 hours notice without penalty.
