A Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience is needed for a contract opportunity in North Wilkesboro, NC, supporting a busy surgical department with diverse cases. This role offers a set schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with call responsibilities every third day and every third weekend. Call begins at 3:00 PM and runs through the night into the morning, requiring a 30-minute callback time dependent on case length. No float or weekend shift requirements are involved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a general OR setting, including colorectal, gynecological, orthopedic, ophthalmic, and urology procedures
• Assist with scrub duties for laparoscopic, arthroscopic, ophthalmic, and orthopedic surgeries
• Manage patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring during procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, cataract extraction, total joint replacement, and C-sections
• Operate surgical equipment including Stryker orthopedic tools, Olympus laparoscopic systems, and Fuji endoscopy units
• Administer blood products, monitor conscious sedation, and adhere to infection control and radiation safety protocols
• Utilize Meditech and Omnicell for medication administration and documentation
• Follow Universal Protocol procedures, specimen handling, and maintain sterile fields

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in Operating Room environments
• Proficiency in general OR, colonoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic-assisted surgeries, and orthopedic procedures required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications mandatory
• Experience with ambulatory surgery, scrub techniques, and specialized procedures preferred
• Strong knowledge of emergency management, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, and wound management
