Schedule/Hours:
- Full time, 6:30AM 3PM
- On-call required: One weekend per month, approximately 7 days per month
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care by following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for surgical patients
- Manage both routine and complex patient needs in fast-paced operating room settings
- Demonstrate clinical leadership by making appropriate care assignments and providing direction to other team members
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects and efficacy
- Document patient history, treatments, and plans accurately and thoroughly
- Educate patients and families, identifying needs and offering valuable resources
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 1 year of recent experience in an operating room or similar surgical environment preferred
