Job Description

A skilled Registered Nurse with operating room expertise is sought for a contract assignment located at Naval Anacost Annex in Washington, DC. This role focuses on delivering exceptional perioperative care during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining strict adherence to aseptic techniques in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scrubbing and/or circulating roles during operative procedures.
  • Manage department admissions to the operative suite efficiently.
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care.
  • Act as a communication bridge between patients, families, and the surgical team.
  • Prepare the operating room by assembling necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Confirm functionality of equipment and availability of supplies and implants.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable standards and protocols for patient safety.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state/district of practice required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of operating room nursing experience.
  • Graduate from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications mandatory.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the job location.
  • Ability to work night shifts from 9 PM to 7 AM, four 10-hour shifts per week.
  • Call availability required.
