Qualifications:
- Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program (Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred)
- Current and active RN licensure in Alaska (in good standing)
- Minimum of 1-2 years operating room experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
- National Certification in Surgery/PACU desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of AORN standards and medical terminology
- Proficient in care delivery across the continuum, with strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to practice independently within professional guidelines and adapt to changing clinical demands
- Proof of completed COVID vaccinations required
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Direct and coordinate care to ensure best outcomes for patients of all ages
- Serve as a resource and mentor in the perioperative setting
- Provide education to patients and families, ensuring cultural sensitivity and age-appropriateness
- Supervise support staff in collaboration with Charge Nurse
