As an Operating Room Registered Nurse in this role, youll deliver holistic patient carecovering assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluationfor individuals from newborn through elderly, ensuring quality outcomes throughout pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages. This role exposes you to a wide spectrum of cases and requires confidence in making independent, clinically sound decisions within professional and regulatory guidelines.

Schedule/Hours

  • Travel assignment with flexible shifts to accommodate operational needs

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) from an NLN-accredited program
  • Active Alaska RN license in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
  • 12 years of recent Operating Room experience
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU highly valued
  • Proven proficiency in AORN standards and patient safety protocols
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing electronic medical equipment and standard office technology
  • Ability to recognize and apply age-specific and culturally sensitive care
  • Must show proof of completed COVID vaccinations

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing care for surgical patients, collaborating with surgical and anesthesia teams
  • Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative care
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in accordance with regulations
  • Use critical thinking to solve complex patient care issues
  • Supervise and guide Administrative Assistants, Schedulers, and CSR Techs alongside Charge Nurse
  • Ensure cost-effective, efficient care aligned with established standards
