Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program (Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred)
  • Current and active RN licensure in Alaska (in good standing)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years operating room experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AORN standards and medical terminology
  • Proficient in care delivery across the continuum, with strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to practice independently within professional guidelines and adapt to changing clinical demands
  • Proof of completed COVID vaccinations required

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and coordinate care to ensure best outcomes for patients of all ages
  • Serve as a resource and mentor in the perioperative setting
  • Provide education to patients and families, ensuring cultural sensitivity and age-appropriateness
  • Supervise support staff in collaboration with Charge Nurse
